性质：又称光氧化降解。是光和氧两种降解作用的综合效应。其反应机理为高聚物发生断链和交联，并伴随生成含氧官能团(如羧基、羟基、羰基等)。光降解对聚合物的使用有很大的破坏作用，可使高聚物外观变坏(如变色、出现斑点、失去光泽等)，物理机械性能变差(如发脆、抗张强度和伸长率下降等)，电性能急剧下降等，故而在高聚物合成及加工过程中应加入光稳定剂和抗氧剂等助剂。
