将芯砂制成型芯的工艺装备。可由木材、塑料、金属或其他材料制成。设计芯盒时，根据型芯的特点、生产批量和生产条件等因素来确定芯盒材料及其结构形式。图为五通阀体型芯和制造型芯的芯盒。这种芯盒结构比较简单，适用于手工制芯。型芯的垂直部分是用两件活块组成的，以避免开盒时折断。在震实式机器上制芯的芯盒，应有和制芯机台面相适应的固定装置，一般还要配备承接型芯的托芯板。用射芯机（见造芯机）制芯的芯盒，除与机器配合的部分外，还应有排放射入气流的排气系统。用热芯盒法制芯的芯盒，除射砂和排气装置以外，还要有加热芯盒的装置和顶出型芯的装置。芯盒温度经常保持在200℃以上,所以通常都用铸铁制成。冷芯盒法制芯是靠吹入气体的催化作用使型芯硬化的，这种芯盒应有使催化气体均匀散布到各处的排气系统。
