The functions that the Ling Canal channelized one third water of Xiang River into Li River decreased.
经多年调查发现,灵渠兴建时对湘江三七分水,其中三分水入漓江的状况已有改变,分水功能犹存,但分出之水已被在大湾陡和印陡处的引水灌溉渠道将入漓江之水全部引走,印陡以下已是干渠;相思埭的源头历史上从未搞清楚,经调查其源头是分水岭下的一条地下河水;而宋代的朝宗渠是唐代灵陂的延长,近年建成的两江四湖环保工程中的引漓江水的渠道,就是在朝宗渠和灵陂的基础上修建的。
