轴头 装裱材料。亦称“画轴”。中国画装裱坠底装饰之用。古代画轴常用檀香木，檀香能辟湿气，且开闸有香气，又能辟蠹。有用玉作轴头的，以古檀为轴身，因植身重，可取两片刳中空，再合柄为轴，这样轻不损画。到此为玉轴多用于手卷。亦有用桐、杉作画轴的，亦有用苏木为轴，以石灰汤转色，岁久愈佳，且性轻。牛角为轴易引虫，且开卷多有湿气。更不宜用金作轴头，既俗气且易招盗。亦有以水晶作轴头的，总之，画轴宜轻，轴重损画。
