    现场测量和记录海水的盐度(或电导率)和温度随深度变化的仪器。又称盐温深剖面仪。通常由水下探头、水上数据处理装置和吊放设备组成。有自容式、传输式或直读式两种,分别适用于走航或定点调查的船只、水下拖曳体、浮标或潜标,以及船用或飞机用的投弃式装置。水下探头包括传感器和测量电路等。常用电导传感器测量盐度或电导率;用铂电阻、铜电阻、热敏电阻、晶体或复合式温度传感器测量温度;用压力传感器测量深度。自容式盐温深测量仪的探头内装有记录器和电源。深海测量时常用单芯铠装电缆传送复合的调频信号或串行的编码信号,也可用声波传送信号。水上数据处理装置常以计算机为主体。用仪表指示、数码显示、数字打印、磁带记录、模拟作图等多种方式记录和显示盐度、温度和深度的测定值。较精密的盐温深测量仪,其测量范围和精确度为:盐度:25~35,±0.02~0.05;温度:-2~35℃,±0.02~0.01℃;深度:0~3000米或0~6000米,±0.25%。
