性质:又名熟石膏或烧石膏、煅石膏(calcined gypsum)。化学式CaSO4·0.5H2O。由二水石膏(CaSO4·2H2O)加热至100-200℃脱去部分结晶水而得。有α和β二种形态,都是菱形结晶,但物理性能不同。α型半水石膏结晶良好,坚实;β型是片状的、有裂纹的晶体,结晶很细,比表面积比α型大得多。通常用蒸压釜在饱和蒸汽介质中蒸炼而成的是α型半水石膏,亦称高强石膏。用炒锅或回转窑敞开装置燃烧而成的是β型半水石膏,亦即建筑石膏。后者生产设备简单,效率高。半水石膏溶解度约为10克CaSO4/升水。与水拌合所成浆体的干燥过程中重新形成CaSO4·2H2O,迅速凝结硬化而获得强度。在干燥状态强度最高,遇水剧烈软化。在凝结硬化过程中体积稍有膨胀,是一种气硬性胶凝材料。常加砂子或纤维材料制成砂浆或灰浆用于建筑装饰抹灰,制做石膏制品,也用作模型等。美术工艺上用作雕塑模型。医疗上用于外科绷带。中医学上用于生肌敛疮。
