补充资料：行星磁层
| 行星磁层 planet，magnetosphere of 太阳风与行星磁场互相作用而形成的特殊区域，其中充满着等离子体物质。其形状与彗星相似：磁层顶受太阳风压缩形成弓形激波阵面；磁层尾却可沿着背太阳面延伸得很长。磁层内有个特殊的界面，面两侧的磁力线方向相反，该面称中性面。九大行星中，金星、火星没有磁层，冥王星情况不明，其他行星都有磁层。水星的磁场很弱，又最近太阳，所以磁层顶被压缩得很厉害 ；木星磁层比地球磁层大100倍，并可分3部分：内区（离木星14万千米以内）大致是偶极场；中介区（离木星14～42万千米）较稀松，磁力线弯弯曲曲，带电粒子被约束在很薄的片形场内；外区（离木星42～63万千米）则是合成场，而其磁尾甚至可扫及土星区域。土星的磁层更为复杂，在等离子体外还有一个庞大的氢环，整个磁层形如一条大鲸：头部磁顶圆钝，磁尾粗壮；在外太阳和行星的大小比较行星区域，太阳风已很弱，所以天王星、海王星的磁层顶都可高达几十万千米，而且磁层内除常见的氢离子外，还有较多的氦和氮离子。 |
