| 蚶科 Arcidae；ark clams 软体动物门双壳纲翼形亚纲蚶目的一科。又称瓦 垄子。广布于世界各海区。中国已发现50多种。蚶的贝壳较厚，呈卵圆形、三角形或不等四边形。壳面凸，被有放射肋或褐色绒毛壳皮。贝壳内面白色。铰合部直或略呈弧形，具有许多片状小齿。前肌痕小而后肌痕大。足发达。多数种栖息在泥沙滩中，有些种用足丝附着在石缝中生活。少数种能分布到深海。泥蚶含有血红素，是珍贵的滋补品。贝壳可以入药。
