   性质  纯六氯苯为无色细长针状结晶,熔点228.7℃。沸点319.3℃(升华)。相对密度1.5691(23/6℃),不溶于水及乙醇,可溶于乙醚、氯仿、苯、甲苯、二氯甲烷等有机溶剂中。工业品为淡红色结晶,略有香气味,熔点220℃,蒸汽压14.519Pa(20℃)。本品比较稳定,不怕酸,但在高温下,在碱性溶液中能分解生成五氯酚钠盐。
用途  杀菌剂,还用于制五氯酚,农药。
  毒性   本品毒性是氯苯中最低的,但对粘膜有刺激作用,能引起皮肤炎症,损害肝、甲状腺等。大鼠经口LD50为10g/kg。应避免与皮肤接触,防止由口鼻吸入,操作人员宜戴口罩及橡胶手套。 
   包装储运  铁桶内衬塑料袋包装,附有规定的有毒标志,贮于通风、干燥处,防潮和雨淋,不得与食物、种子混放,保持包装完整。
