In view of the high consumption of iron and steel stocks for converter, more than thirty related factors are found out from six aspects, such as technology, management and operation, raw and subsidiary materials, machines and equipments.

The actualities of ferrous charges consumption in converter steel-making plant at Liangang were introduced.

In order to reduce the loss of iron by blowing and the cost of ferrous charges consumption, increase the economical benefits, measures such as optimizing the raw feeding material structure, improving blowing process, implementing the less-slag operation etc.

This present paper through deduce the expression of ferrous charges consumption in theory,indicatetre target-aims on economical and technical interrelated with practice,and indicate the measures on decrease the ferrous charges consumption from the converter and continue-cast manufacture in First Steelmaking plant of Hangang Co.
