In order to establish the formation models of the Silurian paleo-pools and predict the distribution of the original hydrocarbon pools, hydrocarbon migration directions during the first Silurian pools filling stage in Tazhong and Tabei areas of the Tarim basin have been studied based on analysis of carbazole compounds.
