The main species Cunsanpi of yellow sun-cured tobacco in Hunan had been practiced on changes and effects of curing methods on tobacco qualities from 2002 to 2003.

Field experiments were conducted during 2004-2005 to study the effects of different amount and methods of nitrogen on nutrents change in the soil, biological characteristic, accumulation of the dry matter, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, physiological characteristic, carbon and nitrogen metabolite of cutters and upper-leaf, yield and quality of the yellow sun-cured tobacco of Ningxiang.

In order to research appropriate fermentation methods on sun-cured yellow tobacco in Ningxiang Hunan, artificial fermentations and aging were designed on two grades of tobaccos (B2 and C3) in this experiment.

To improve the smoke concentration,strength and satisfaction of low-grade Virginian-type cigarette,the sun-cured yellow tobacco was added at the ratio of 2%,4%,6%,8% in the group of cigarette formula,and the physical,chemical character were compared,the sensory quality was evaluated,the smoking was analyzed.

Sun-cured tobacco was not only the important production materials of cigar and mixed type tobacco,but also the important germplasm resources for proceeding cross breeding of Chinese tobacco.
