The thermal degradation of poly (ethylene terephthalate)(PET) and phosphorus containing copolyester,obtained from the polycondensation of terephthalate acid,ethylene glycol and 2 carboxyethyl (phenyl phosphinic) acid in air were studied by thermogravimetric analysis(TG) in order to determine the activation energy of phosphorus containing copolyester and PET.
