This paper introduces the necessity of the dam strengthening for the slag yard of self-owned power plant of Yiwang Ferroalloy Company, puts forward the design scheme of the dam strengthening, and makes the analysis on and calculation of the stability of the dam after strengthening.

According to the calculated results the plan of reinforcement on the dam body and the amendment method of stresses in the dam are put forward.

The design skills of dam split grouting and its construction technique ar introduced, anti seepage effects with split grouting in earth dam reinforcement are elaborated briefly.
