   豆科虹豆属一年生缠绕藤本植物。顶生小叶菱状卵形,长5-13厘米,宽4-7厘米;侧生小叶斜卵形。总状花序腋生,花冠淡紫色。荚果条形,下垂,长约40厘米,稍肉质而柔软。
    生境分布:广植于热带和温带地区,我国各地有栽培。
    用途: 荚果作蔬菜。种子入药,能健脾补气、滋养消食。
