Monitoring of some online parameters, such as oxygew uptake rate (OUR), carbon dioxide exit rate (CER), respiratory quotient (RQ), which are characteristics of macro-metabolic flux, is the basis of the optimization of bioprocess.

TheOxygen uptake rate,which may be measured and is closely related with the biomass growth,is selected as the controlled parameter; metablic pathways are decided by the utilization ofrespiratory quotient,with the substrate controlled by the predication and precorrection algo-rithm which utilizes the process information synthetically.

Objective To investigate the changes in serum insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1) in patients with chronic severe hepatitis B and hypoglycemia and its relationship to the fasting blood glucose and serum insulin, liver functions and respiratory quotient(RQ).

Using this system,oxygen uptake rate(OUR),carbon dioxide evolution rate(CER),respiration quotient(RQ),dissolved oxygen(DO) and volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient(K\-\{La\}) can be simultaneously determined, the operations such as inoculation,sampling,feeding and so on may be on site carried out.

So,oxygen uptake rate ( OUR ),carbon dioxide evolution rate ( CER ) and respiration quotient (RQ) were calculated by this method successfully.
