In light with principles of landscape ecology, we divide Shoaly Land into four types: Mud Flat, Sand Beach, Bench, and Biologic Flat, and identify that this typical open system has six landscape ecological characteristics: fragile landscape, distinct edge effect, spatial agglomeration of physical elements, spatial dynamic movement, obvious heterogeneity, and spatial differentiation.

Expound the practice of Dafeng City, Jiangsu Province in exploring coastal beach started from the 90 s of the 20th century; summarized the guiding thoughts and 4 models for sustainable development of coastal beach: reed & fish culture, "two flood & one drought" improve soil and aid fertilizer, saline soil agriculture, artificial grassland structure at high tide belt.

Foundation soil treatment method of coastal beach reclamation is very important for development and construction of coastal area,which has problems of low consolidation and bearing capacity.

This article described systematically the principle and key instruments for measuring and assessing the coastal land groundwater salinity,which was based on ElectroMagnetic(EM) inducing theory.
