性质:由铊及其化合物引起的环境污染。在铊的冶炼厂、火力发电厂和各种含铊材料、药剂的制造过程中会含有铊的废气、废水、废渣进入环境。如铊汞齐制造低温温度计、醋酸铊制造药品和脱毛剂、杀鼠剂,氧化铊制造光电管,碳酸铊用于光学玻璃,硝酸铊用于制发光漆等。由于铊盐易溶于水,工业污染地区的蔬菜、肉、蛋等食物中的含铊量高于水、土壤中700~4000倍。铊可在有机体内积蓄数年,主要通过饮水、食物从消化道进入人体被吸收;也可由呼吸道吸入含铊粉尘或蒸气、或经皮肤接触而被吸收,造成慢性中毒。铊及其化合物的毒性很强,比氧化砷(砒霜)要剧烈得多,对胃肠道和肾脏有明显的效应。其特有的慢性中毒症状为毛发脱落。
