性质:夹心化合物中的一个环状共轭π配位体,被σ-配位体代替,即可形成半夹心化合物。如单分子的环戊二烯金属羰基化合物便是。图中所示为3种半夹心化合物的结构式。半夹心化合物多以琴凳式化合物(piano-stool compounds)为代表。这类化合物常用作聚烯烃合成催化剂。
