形态特征:
棱角山矾,山矾科山矾属,为常绿树种高大乔木。小枝浅黄绿色,粗壮而具明显的棱。叶片革质,狭椭圆形,长12~14厘米,宽3~5厘米,先端急尖,基部楔形,边缘具圆齿状锯齿,两面浅黄绿色,叶柄约1厘米。穗状花序被毛,基部有分枝,长约6厘米,花白色,果长圆形,花期4-9月,果期9-10月。

分布与习性:
棱角山矾喜温暖,湿润气候,耐阴,耐寒力都较强,在肥沃、深厚的黄棕壤或黄壤里均生长良好。深根性,侧根发达,萌芽力较强,生长中速。

繁殖与栽培:
主要以播种繁殖为主,一般沙藏后熟三年,山矾出芽率比较低,播种应注意土壤透气,防止土壤板结。

应用:
其树形优美,且四季青翠,枝条自然分布稠密均匀,能形成独具风韵的树冠。群体效果好。其花多,色白且香,随风飘溢,令人赏心悦目。在庭园绿化及生态风景林中为一种新优树种。
