Using the mRNA differential display method, we compared the alteration of gene expression in suspension cultured Taxus chinensis cells before and after beginning to produce Taxol, and obtained a specifically expressed cDNA clone TS1, with a length of 638bp, from cells in the Taxol synthesis phase.
