性质:又称磨耗损失或磨耗减量。是两物体在磨损过程中,相对运动的表面材料损失量,它是通过规定条件的摩擦磨损试验来评定。但目前尚没有统一的标准条件,也没有相互的换算关系。这些试验方法大体上都在规定条件下经过一定的磨损周期后,测算尺寸的变化、质量或体积的减量来表示。比如,在Taber磨耗试验机上,就是以磨轮旋转1000次以后的质量减量来表示试验结果,单位mg/1000转或用试样相对密度值换算成ml/1000转来表示。
