    一个地区(主要指城市)由于人口稠密、工业集中造成温度高于周围地区的现象。城市温度的分布一般是工商业和人口集中的市中心区温度最高,随着同市中心距离的增加,温度逐渐下降,至城市郊区,温度则同周围农村相近。热岛现象可以造成局部地区的气象异常。最明显的如城市大气温度较高,空气上升,郊区农村的冷空气就流入城市。城乡之间空气的这种热对流,在夜间尤为明显,称为城市风。
