| 液晶显示器件 liquid crystal display device 液晶在外加光源照射下受控激励，供视觉感受信息的显示器件。液晶具有规则的组织结构，本身并不发光。它由有机分子组成，分子排列有向列型（所有分子相互平行排列）、胆甾型（分子相互平行排列，连续多层，各层依所选方向依次回转）和层列型（分子以同一方向按层次排列）3种形式。1964年美国无线电公司发现液晶的多种电光效应，即宾主效应、动态散射效应和相移存储效应。宾主效应是多色染料分子（宾）与向列液晶（主）在电场作用下重新排列，引起颜色变化。动态散射效应是透明的液晶由于电场的作用，引起分子排列混乱。相移存储效应是光能通过一对夹有液晶、相互正交的偏振镜。以扭曲向列场效应为基础的液晶显示器件在电子表和计算器中应用最多。在这种器件中，偏振光能在液晶里旋转；如果加有电场，则扭曲结构失效，光就不能通过 。扭曲向列液晶不但响应慢（0.1秒），而且门限的斜率小，因此限制矩阵选址的行数，多用于单字符显示。液晶显示器件还有液晶光阀和用液晶和薄膜晶体管制做的显示板。液晶显示器件由于其功耗低，平板显示等优点，是未来显示技术的重要发展方向之一。 |
