引起人类霍乱病的弧菌属细菌。菌体弯曲如弧形或逗点状。菌体一端有单生鞭毛,运动活泼。耐碱不耐酸。主要通过污染水源或食物而引起肠道感染。人类是霍乱弧菌的唯一易感者。霍乱弧菌进入消化道到达小肠,在肠粘膜表面吸附并迅速繁殖。产生的霍乱肠毒素作用于小肠粘膜,引起小肠液过度的分泌。严重者出现上吐下泻,导致脱水和代谢性酸中毒、循环衰竭,甚至产生休克和死亡。霍乱弧菌曾引起6次霍乱病的世界大流,造成了人类的大量死亡。患过霍乱的人可获得牢固的免疫力,再感染的较为少见。霍乱弧菌对热和消毒剂抵抗力弱,在55℃湿热下15分钟即死亡。用0.1%的高锰酸钾处理蔬菜、水果30分钟,均可达到消毒的目的。预防本病的发生和流行,必须加强卫生教育,加强水和粪便的管理,消灭苍蝇,注意饮食及食品卫生。注射霍乱菌苗可增强机体抵抗力,达到 预防霍乱的良好效果。为了防止霍乱由国外传入,要做好国境检疫;对来自疫区的交通工具和人员都必须接受卫生检疫。对患者必须严格实行隔离治疗。
