      氧化铝(Al2O3)含量为 15~30%的硅酸铝质耐火材料制品。一般用含石英砂的耐火粘土、叶蜡石(Al2O3·4SiO2·H2O)、耐火粘土或高岭土选矿的尾矿作原料。半硅砖在烧成过程中收缩较小,这是因为在1250℃温度下,原料中石英转化成方石英,体积膨胀,部分抵销了粘土烧结时产生的收缩。
  
  半硅砖的制造工艺可分为烧成或不烧成两种。烧成砖的制造工艺与粘土砖基本相同;不烧成砖则多采用水玻璃作结合剂制成。
  
  半硅砖高温体积稳定(稍有膨胀),有利于提高砌体的整体性,减弱熔渣对砌体的侵蚀作用;与高温熔渣接触时,在砖的表面形成一层粘度较大的釉状物质,堵塞气孔,阻止熔渣向砖内渗透,从而提高了砖的抗侵蚀能力;而且荷重变形开始温度较高;所以在某些场合,其使用寿命不逊于一般粘土砖。
  
  半硅砖主要用作盛钢桶内衬和下注浇钢系统的耐火层。此外,还可用于热炉炉顶、蓄热室格子砖、化铁炉炉衬、各种窑炉炉底和烟道等部位。
