      碱与盐(或矿物)的复分解过程。是一种以碱为浸取液的浸取过程。常用于矿石加工和无机盐生产。有时也把聚合物遇碱分子量降低的过程称为碱解。碱性物质一般是钠、钾的氢氧化物、碳酸盐、碳酸氢盐以及钙的氧化物、氢氧化物等。这些碱类物质可以单独或混合使用。
  
  以固体碱性物质为反应剂在高温状态下对矿物、盐类进行加工,以制取可溶性盐类的碱解过程,又称为碱性焙烧。例如:由铬铁矿制取铬酸钠(见铬铁矿化学加工),由软锰矿制取锰酸钾(见锰矿化学加工)等。
  
  工业上常用烧碱或纯碱的溶液为反应剂,并用蒸汽加热使被加工的矿物或盐类分解,而回收有用成分。例如:纯碱法由硼矿制硼砂时,在蒸汽加热下用纯碱与硼矿反应,使硼矿分解成可溶性硼盐和不溶性碳酸钙,可予以分离(见硼矿化学加工)。又如湿法生产硅酸钠时,把硅石粉和烧碱溶液加入加压釜中,在高温下反应,生成硅酸钠。
  
  影响矿物或盐类碱解率和碱解速率的主要因素有:①温度。提高反应温度,则碱解速率加快。有时,为提高反应温度,碱解过程应在加压下进行。②粒度。固体颗粒度越小,则碱解率与碱解速率越高。③搅拌作用。增大搅拌强度能够提高液-固相之间的相对运动速度,使扩散阻力减小,从而提高碱解率和碱解速率。④配料比。碱液与固体矿物的配比越大,则两相间相对速率越高,碱解率和碱解速率也会提高。⑤原料的性质和碱液的浓度。
  
  碱解过程一般在槽式反应器中进行,有时也采用塔式反应器,如搅拌槽式反应器、空气鼓泡槽式反应器、板式浸取塔等。过程可以间歇地或连续地进行。
