Although a sizing agent is applied on the optical fibers during fiber drawing to impart binding, lubrication and antistatic properties, these fibers may not perform very well to form bundles, especially in case of large diameter(＞φ14) bundles, thus resulting in some defects due to the failure to array all fibers straight or compact at the ends of bundles.
光纤在拉制时虽然喷涂浸润剂,使光纤表面具备粘结、润滑、抗静电等良好性能,但在制作光纤束时,特别是大通光直径(＞Φ14)光纤束,光纤丝的集束力会显不够,使光纤丝在端面不能完全笔直排列,或集束不紧密,而出现花斑及胶缝现象。
