用桑蚕丝和粘胶人造丝交织的双层经起绒丝织物。主要用于妇女服装、帷幕、靠垫、沙发面料和装饰、工艺美术品等。它用加强拈的蚕丝作地经和地纬,经和纬都以两根S拈、两根Z拈相间排列,两层织物各以平纹交织,绒经用有光粘胶人造丝以"W"形固结在上、下底绸上。双层绒坯经割绒后成为两块织物,经剪绒、练染、或印花立绒等加工而成产品。质地柔软,绒毛耸密。绒坯也可以经过特殊加工制成烂花乔其绒。由于桑蚕丝和粘胶人造丝具有不同的耐酸性,将绒坯按设计花形印上酸性浆,经焙烘后,将部分粘胶丝绒毛烂去,剩下平纹地部,未接触酸性浆的绒毛则呈现花纹,这种织物称烂花乔其绒。用以制做服装或礼服,有多层次立体风格。
