性质:对于某一电极反应,当电极电势正偏离其平衡电极电势Ep时,其偏离值称为超电势,或称过电位。η=E-Ep。这是该电极反应得以进行的推动力。电极反应一般都有迁越步骤和扩散步骤,这两个步骤的超电势分别称迁越超电势ηCT和扩散超电势ηd。有时电极反应还伴随有一些偶联化学反应,这些反应的超电势通称反应超电势ηr。上述各步骤若是前后衔接的,整个电极反应的超电势为各个衔接步骤超电势之和。
