性质:针状晶体(由甲醇重结晶)。熔点218~220℃。易溶于乙醇、乙醚、醋酸,能溶于热水,不溶于氯仿、苯。醇溶液发出蓝色荧光。将邻氨基苯甲酸钠与氯乙酸钠的混合水溶液,于40℃加热4天,即制得本品的钠盐,以酸处理即得本品。为合成靛蓝的中间体。其衍生物:α-乙酯,针状结晶,熔点152℃。β-乙酯,熔点182℃。二乙酯,熔点75℃。
