In this paper,the effect of annual forage in mono and mixed cultivatoin in high latitude and cold area on grass biomass and feed crops quality and The effect of fertilizer and harvest time on grass were summarized.

Discussions have been taken on toxic constituents and the content of toxic substance contained in some of the species and varieties of major excellent forage grasses and fodder crops in China,including more than 10 of the 43 master species of forage grasses all over the country,and on the affects of poisoning and harmful effects of the toxic substance to the livestock which have taken it.

To separate cereal crop from forage crop and build a cropping system of cereal cash forage three units structure is an inevitable choice of solving grain problem in the Loess Plateau.

According to the “Ten year National Program of Rural Economic Development”, the expansion of forage crops and application of planting mode of “three way structure” proved important measures to the sustained development of agricalture in Heilongggang Area; and a series of sub measures were also supposed.
