实际物体的辐射力E与同温下黑体(见黑体和灰体)的辐射力E0之比,又称辐射率。黑度ε=(E/E0)T,它反映物体在辐射能力方面接近黑体的程度，是辐射换热中的重要参数。G.基尔霍夫通过模拟黑体的人造空腔论证了在相同的温度下，以黑体的辐射力为最大；物体表面的辐射率（即黑度）在数值上等于该表面对来自同温度的投入辐射的吸收率。因此，一切辐射力高的物体都具有高的吸收力。黑体的黑度等于1.0;各种实际物体的黑度都在0～1.0之间，其具体数值不仅与材料和表面情况有关，还与辐射能的波长，即与温度有关。
