Alternanthera philoxeroides

   苋科莲子草属水生或湿生多年生宿根性草本。因其叶与花生叶相似而得名。又称空心莲子草、喜旱莲子草。在中国南方是一种重要的水生饲草、绿肥兼用作物。根白色稍带红色。茎圆形,中空,叶对生,长卵形。喜湿耐寒,适应性强,一般用茎蔓进行无性繁殖,并适量施肥和防治害虫。通常用鲜草制堆肥、沤肥或翻入土中。又可作牲畜饲料。生命力强,极易蔓延而成为农田恶性杂草或河道障碍物。
