BL-formaldehyde absorptive reagent is used to solve the formaldehyde emission problem of wood-based panels.

A series of single process factor experiments were made to determine the effects of different process factors on reducing formaldehyde emission from MDF with BL-formaldehyde absorptive reagent applied in its manufacture process.

As the price of bamboo floor is getting lower and lower in successive years and the demand of environment-protection is becoming more and more strict, the hypothesis to apply BL-formaldehyde absorptive reagent,which is innocuous, high effective, low cost, convenient-in-use and convenient-in-production,to the production of bamboo floor was tested.

The results show that BL-formaldehyde scavenger is compatible with UF,and the pH and viscosity of UF added with the scavenger could meet the requirement for production.

This study is one part of my mentor’s item,mainly studies on the technology and method of producing flame-retarded particleboard with environmental concern and environment friendly particleboard using two new-fashioned research fruits: BL-formaldehyde scavenger and BL-environment friendly flame-retardant, and quest for the interrelated principium.

Moreover,in view of the harm of indoor formaldehyde pollution,a formaldehyde elimination agent was selected to test the performance of formaldehyde elimination.

Free-formaldehyde scavengers were divided three types: oxidizer type, amino-derivative type and α-hydrogen containing compound type.
