学名1-甲基4-异丙烯基-6-环己烯-2-酮。无色至淡黄色液化有l-和d-两种旋光异构体，在化妆品中用得较多的是l-体。分子量150.22。密度0.96g/cm3。独点231℃。闪点92℃。不溶于水。溶于油和醇。以l:2溶于70％乙醇。具有类似留兰香的香气。
生产方法：主要采用亚硝基氯化法。以苎烯为原料，先与亚硝基氯反应生成苎烯的亚硝基氯化物，然后脱去氯化氢生成l-酮肟，最后经水解而得。也可从留兰香精油中经精馏提取而得。
用途：酮类合成香料。主要用作花香型调合香料的香基。
