为壳斗科植物红锥的种仁。
【植物形态】
红锥，又名：赤黎、红黎、红椽栲。 常绿乔木，高可达25米。树皮灰色至灰褐色，小枝紫褐色，有淡褐色的皮孔。单叶互生；薄革质；卵状披针形，长7～10厦米，宽1.5～2.8厘米，基部阔楔形，先端渐尖为尾状，全缘，或上半部有疏而细的齿，上面光亮无毛，下面密被赤褐色粃鳞，侧脉纤细，10～12对，在背面明显；叶柄长4～8毫米，被微柔毛。花单性，蜂雄同株；雄花成直立穗状花序，雌花为短穗状花序；果穗长5～9厘米，无毛；总苞球形，开裂，直径1.5～2.5厘米，密生锥状被毛的硬尖刺，内面有坚果1～3。坚果卵形，顶端短尖，长6～10毫米，直径4～8毫米。花期3～5月。果期11～12月。 生于山坡及湿润的山谷。分布广西、广东、福建等地。
