冰岩心 在冰川、冰原上钻取的冰体岩心。主要用于研究冰体的结构、构造、所含微粒、氢氧同位素的比值变化及其它化学元素的含量变化,进而推测地球上的气候变化序列及其年代。格陵兰世纪营(camp century)的冰岩心分析,得出距今19000~23000、46000~56000、68900~74000年前属于较温暖时期的结论。在南极冰盖地区,也钻取过大量冰岩心,得出各种不同的分析曲线。如苏联东方站,根据所采的2000米冰岩心分析,得出16万年来的气候变化曲线;伯德站冰岩心的分析表明,距今25000、31000和39000年前为较温暖时期,距今27000、34000和46000年为较寒冷阶段。
