In brief the article first introduces the advantages of rapier loom as well as the direction of the rapier driving mechanism, and then in details analyzes the principle and performance of most kinds of rapier driving mechanism of flexible rapier loom.

The paper compared the related historical material and realistic situation on the swordplay between China and Japanese and proposed that Chinese swordplay emphasize performing arts,while the Japanese swordplay empha- size the combating resistance and the deference is due to the different history and custom.
