【来源】
为葫芦科植物瓠子老熟的干燥果皮。植物形态详"瓠子"条。
【采集】
立秋至白露间，采取老热果实，剖开除去种子，晒干。
【药材】
干燥的果皮，多呈破碎的条片状，厚约5～7毫米。外表黄白色或灰黄色，平滑，内壁灰白色，如绵絮状。质脆易断，断面不平坦。以干燥、外表色黄、内壁白色、无碎屑者为佳。 主产江苏。
【性味】
①《苏州本产药材》："淡。" ②《药材资料汇编》："苦，寒。"
【功用主治】
①《苏州本产药材》："利水，消肿，治腹胀。" ②《药材资料汇编》："治面目四肢浮肿，大水(腹)胀满，小便不通。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，4～5钱。
