1 制造技术及其发展特征 制造技术是使原材料成为人们所需产品而使用的一系列技术和装备的总称，是涵盖整个生产制造过程的各种技术的集成。从广义来讲，它包括设计技术、加工制造技术、管理技术等三大类。其中设计技术是指开发、设计产品的方法；加工制造技术是指将原材料加工成所设计产品而采用的生产设备及方法；管理技术是指如何将产品生产制造所需的物料、设备、人力、资金、能源、信息等资源有效地组织起来，达到生产目的的方法。家具作为人类维持正常生活、从事工作学习和开展社会活动必不可少的、供人科坐、卧、躺、或支承与贮存物品的一类产品，在其生产制造过程中，也同样需要采用上述的一三类制造技术。 从社会发展的角度来看,人类社会已经经历了农业经济时代和工业经济时代,正在进入信息经济时代（也称后工业经济社会或工业信息化时代）。在农业经济时代,产品的制造主要是家庭作坊式的手工技艺,是依靠人类本身的器官和力气来完成的；蒸汽机的出现和应用使人类进入了工业经济时代,机器开始代替人做各种工作，把人类从繁重的重复性劳动中解放出来,而且机械化和自动化技术使社会生产力得到了迅速发展,现代化大工业也迅速成长起来,实现了产品的专业化和大批量生产；随着人类社会进入信息经济时代,信息日益成为最重要的战略资源和决定性生产力、竞争力及经济增长的关键因素，产品的价值主要来源于产品中科学技术知识的信息含量,以计算机和信息技术为基础的现代先进制造技术已逐步发展起来。上述三个不同经济时代的制造过程和制造技术的主要特征可归纳为表1。 2 先进制造技术及其内涵 现在，人们在各种媒体上，经常可以看到或听到“先进制造技术”这一词。所谓先进制造技术，是指集机械工程技术、电子技术、自动化技术、信息技术等多种技术为一体,用于制造产品的技术、设备和系统的总称。 从广义上来说,先进制造技术包括: （1）计算机辅助产品开发与设计（如计算机辅助设计CAD、计算机辅助工程CAE、计算机辅助工艺设计CAPP、并行工程CE等）； （2）计算机辅助制造与各种计算机集成制造系统（如计算机辅助制造CAM、计算机辅助检测CAI、计算机集成制造系统CIMS、数控技术NC/CNC、直接数控技术DNC、柔性制造系统FMS、成组技术GT、准时化生产JIT、精益生产LP、敏捷制造AM、虚拟制造VM、绿色制造GM等)； （3）利用计算机进行生产任务和各种制造资源合理组织与调配的各种管理技术(如管理信息系统MIS、物料需求计划MRP、制造资源计划MRPII、企业资源计划ERP、工业工程IE、办公自动化OA、条形码技术BCT、产品数据管理PDM、产品全生命周期管理PLM、全面质量管理TQM、电子商务EC、客户关系管理CRM、SCM供应链管理等)。
