| 防护林 protection，forest for 为改善生态环境、涵养水源、保持水土或发挥其他有益影响而经营的森林。在干旱、风沙、水土流失地区营造防护林，可减免自然灾害的侵袭，保障农牧业生产，解决木料、饲料、肥料、燃料之不足，增加经济收入；在农田周围营造防护林，可改善林网内的小气候，提高农作物产量。
防护林种类按防护作用分为农田防护林、水土保护林、水源涵养林、卫生保健林、固沙林和其他林种，如牧场、海岸、道路、水渠和果园防护林等。 营造防护林的具体技术要求：①树种选择和混交类型。宜选择生长稳定、长寿、抗性强的树种，以优良的乡土树种为宜。根据当地条件，营造乔灌木混交型、阴阳树种混交型等类型的混交林。②防护林配置。根据防护目的和地貌类型，配置防护林带。水源林和水土保护林配置成片状、带状或块状，构成完整的水土保护林体系。③抚育管理。在防护林地区只能进行择伐，清除病腐木，并须及时更新。 |
