性质:又称供电子-吸电子发色体。给电子-受电子发色体至少含有一个直接和共轭体系相联的给电子基,通过共轭桥与受电子基联接,形成发色体。在多数情况下,受电子基不可能把给电子基提供的电荷全部接受下来,其电荷往往分布在整个共轭体系中。因此,可把接受电子的整个共轭体系看作是复杂受电子基。这种体系也称为复杂给电子-受电子发色体。多数染料分子都属于给电子-受电子发色体。
