【来源】
为紫金牛科植物酸藤果的果实。
【植物形态】
酸藤果 落叶藤状灌木或藤本，高1～3米。枝灰色或褐红色，秃净。单叶互生；纸质；倒卵形至狭矩圆形，长3～6厘米，宽1～2厘米，先端钝或浑圆，基部楔尖，全缘，两面秃净；叶柄长约5毫米。花单性异株；稠密的总状花序侧生或腋生；花序长5～10厘米，有花3～8朵；花柄长约2毫米；萼片4裂，卵形，秃净；花瓣4，白色，卵形或矩圆形，先端钝或浑圆，外面秃净，内面有粉状小突点；雄蕊4，在雄花中长于花瓣2倍以上，花药卵形或肾形，背无腺点；子房在雄花中退化，在雌花中球形或卵形，花柱圆柱形，柱头头状。小浆果球形，径约5毫米，熟时暗红色，花期春季。 生于山野或村旁。分布我国南部。 本植物的根及枝叶(酸藤木)亦供药用，另详专条。

夏季采收，蒸熟，晒干备用。
【性味】
酸甘，平。
【功用主治】
强壮补血。治胃酸缺乏，食欲不振。
【选方】
治胃酸缺乏，齿龈出血：鲜酸藤果二至三钱。水煎服。(性味以下出广州部队《常用中草药手册》)
