| 葱 onion 百合科葱属多年生宿根草本。以叶鞘和叶片供食用。中国的主要栽培种为大葱。叶片管状，中空，绿色，先端尖，叶鞘圆筒状，抱合成为假茎，色白，通称葱白。茎短缩为盘状，茎盘周围密生弦线状根。伞形花序球状，位于总苞中。花白色。有分葱和楼葱（龙爪葱）两个变种。还可按假茎和高度分为长白葱（梧桐葱）、中白葱(鸡腿葱)和短白葱（秤砣葱）3个类型。性极耐寒，－10℃可不受冻害，在中国东北部也可露地越冬。生长适温20～25℃。根系弱，极少根毛。宜肥沃的砂质壤土。常见病害有紫斑病、霜霉病、软腐病和锈病；虫害有葱蛆和蓟马等。
胡葱或称火葱和香葱，是中国南方栽培的两个葱种。 葱含有挥发性硫化物，具特殊辛辣味，是重要的解腥、调味品 。葱白甘甜脆嫩。中医学上葱有杀菌、通乳、利尿、发汗和安眠等药效。 |
