在固体或半固体的惰性支持介质上进行的电泳。可将不同泳动率的组分完全分离成带状区间。常用的支持介质为滤纸、醋酸纤维薄膜、淀粉、淀粉凝胶、琼脂以及聚丙烯酰胺凝胶等。根据所用的支持介质的不同又有不同名称,如用滤纸的称为纸电泳,用琼脂的称为琼脂电泳,用各种凝胶的称为各种凝胶电泳等。区带电泳设备简单,在电极槽中加入某一定pH的缓冲溶液,将加有样品的支持体通以直流电,即可将各组分分开,用适宜的染色方法显示各组分的位置。根据组分泳动距离或与已知标准物对照可进行定性。根据组分点大小或其他方法可以进行定量。
