| 大统一理论 grand unified theory 统一描述弱相互作用、电磁相互作用和强相互作用的规范理论。温伯格-萨拉姆的电弱统一理论取得成功，鼓舞物理学家探索将强作用、电磁作用和弱作用统一起来的新尝试。已经提出多种理论方案，其中以SU（5）模型最具有代表性，其基础是强作用的量子色动力学和电弱统一模型。按照这一模型，当粒子能量超过1015吉电子伏特（GeV）时，强作用、电磁作用和弱作用是统一的，有统一的耦合常数，夸克和轻子处于同等地位，传递相互作用的规范粒子共有24种。随着能量降低，对称性分阶段自发破缺。在第一阶段24种胶子中的12种获得质量，称为超重胶子，质量比质子重1014倍。剩下的12种胶子第二阶段自发破缺，其中三种成为获得质量的W±和Z粒子，其余9种为光子和8 种色胶子。大统一理论能够说明电弱统一理论不能说明的问题。存在超重胶子是大统一理论的一个重要特征。它会引起夸克和轻子之间的转化，导致重子数和轻子数不守恒，一个重要后果是质子可发生衰变，p→π0＋e+，衰变寿命为1031年 。实验测量的结果，质子寿命大于1032年。大统一理论还有许多问题有待于探索和研究。 |
