【性状】
本品为无色或微黄色的澄清液体；有特异的芳香气，微似樟脑，味辛、 凉；贮存日久，色稍变深。 本品在70％乙醇中易溶。 相对密度 应为0.895～0.920（附录Ⅶ A）。 折光率 应为1.458～1.468（附录Ⅶ F）。
【鉴别】
取本品0.1ml ，加无水乙醇使成1ml,振摇使溶解，作为供试品溶液。另 取桉油精对照品，同法制成对照品溶液。照薄层色谱法（附录Ⅵ B）试验，吸取上述两 种溶液各2μl，分别点于同一硅胶Ｇ薄层板上，以环己烷－醋酸乙酯(9.5:0.5) 为展开 剂，展开，取出，晾干，喷以 1％香草醛硫酸溶液。供试品色谱中，在与对照品色谱相 应的位置上，显相同颜色的斑点。
【检查】
水茴香烃 取本品2.5ml,加石油醚(60～90℃)12.5ml，摇匀，加亚硝酸 钠溶液(5→8)5ml ，再缓缓加入冰醋酸5ml,搅匀，10分钟内不得析出结晶。 重金属 取本品1g，依法检查（附录Ⅸ E第二法），含重金属不得过百万分之十。
【含量测定】
取本品，照桉油精含量测定法（附录Ⅹ C）测定，即得。 本品含桉油精 (C10H18O) 不得少于70.0％ (g/g)。
【功能与主治】
祛风止痛。用于皮肤瘙痒，神经痛。
【贮藏】
遮光，密封，置阴凉处。
