为小檗科植物假豪猪刺的根及茎皮。
【植物形态】
假豪猪刺 常绿灌木，高0.5～1.5米，茎直立，灰黄色，具棱；刺分3叉，长1～2.5厘米。叶簇生，厚革质，坚硬，长圆状披针形，长3.5～8厘米，宽1～2.5厘米，边缘具刺毛状锯齿，中脉明显。花黄色，5～15朵簇生刺腋；萼片6，下有小苞片2～3；花瓣6；雄蕊6，花药开裂；子房上位，1室，有胚珠多颗。浆果倒卵状长圆形，红色，被白粉，有种子2粒。 生于沟旁、河岸或山坡。分布陕西、甘肃、湖北、四川。
【采集】
夏、秋采收。
【性味】
苦，寒。
【功用主治】
清热消炎，消肿止痛。治肝炎，口舌生疮，小便淋痛，烫伤。
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱。外用：研末调敷。
