性质:又称光伏电池。由半导体p/n结制成。当受太阳光照射时,一定波长的光子可使p/n结附近产生电子-空穴对,电子移向n区,空穴移向p区,在p区和n区之间形成电位降,当外接负载时可输出电能。电池中无化学变化,是一种物理电源,一般用硅单晶或多晶、硫化镉、砷化镓等作基体,价格较贵,主要用于人造卫星、宇宙飞船和星际站作主电源。目前作为商品应用最广的是硅系太阳能电池。此外还研制成功GaAs、CdS、CdTe等太阳能电池。鉴于太阳能是取之不尽的能源,干净清洁,故有广泛的发展前景。由于价格较贵,目前,主要应用于宇航飞行器、无人中转站、无人灯塔及小型计算器等。
